After making wine in Italy and France former Coriole winemaker Matt Broomhead returned to the McLaren Vale to kick off his own gig with Dad Alan and 94 year old Grandad Frank. They’re the Three Dark Horses, they’re seriously boutique and they’re producing some seriously good, seriously affordable wine.

This fruit comes from 20-50 year old vines,100% basket pressed (an expensive, labour intensive winery tool used to produce high quality fruit!), aged 12 months in oak. Dark berries and spice, soft, rich and plush. You’ll be seriously impressed. The smart money is on this horse yet again. Drink now or cellar for up to a decade from vintage.
