A Cabernet Shiraz blend – the Cabernet gives it a good old fashioned firm backbone and the warm climate Shiraz gives it a rounded richness.

“Very deep, bright and saturated purple-red colour, with aromas of earthy/stone, graphite and ferrous notes, shiraz leading the tune, but the cabernet filling in the back and front of the palate. The line is a trifle uneven at this early stage but time will surely put that to rights. Firm, solid, long palate, begging for more time. “Deep crimson. Classical Bin 389 with intense blackberry, dark chocolate, mocha aromas and roasted almond, roasted chestnut, hint sesame nuances. Generous, smooth and velvety with ample blackberry, dark chocolate, roasted chestnut/ roasted walnut, grilled nut flavours, fine looseknit chocolatey tannins, beautifully integrated oak complexity and sinuous long fresh minerally saline acidity. Finishes velvety firm with a fine tannin plume. A superb vintage which will develop and improve further with bottle age. A keeper. Drink 2025 – 2045.”
