Gimme a G, gimme an S, gimme an M! What do we want? GSM! When do we want it? Now!

It’s called GSM and it stands for Garnacha (also called Grenache in some parts of the world), Monastrell and Syrah. They’re the three grape varieties and it’s the same blend found in many of the world famous Cotes-du-Rhone reds from the south of France.

Produced by the Castano family in the south-east of Spain in a region called Yecla. One of the grapes in the GSM is Mourvedre (also called Mourvedre in France and Mataro in Aussie) and it’s absolutely at home in this part of Spain. With hot summers, long cold winters and long periods of drought – most grapes wouldn’t stand a chance. But in this environment Monastrell brings its A-game!

A juicy, fruit forward style red with a touch of savoury spiciness.
