“As kids, the farm was all about that big red tractor which captivated our imaginations. The real name – Massey Ferguson tractor – was such a mouthful that from our earliest memories it was known as the Massey Dacta. This wine is a tribute to the fantastic memories we had growing up in rural New Zealand; and of course – the Massey Dacta!!” – Ben Glover. Winemaker & Tractor Driver.
If his tractor driving’s half as good as his winemaking we’re in safe hands with Ben behind the wheel. After all he’s the dude who’s spent the last two decades making wine for Wither Hills, Mud House, Waipara Hills, Corbans and more.
Now Ben and the rest of the Glovers have got their own label out there, proudly named after that big red tractor on the farm. Their 2016 Pinot is produced using fruit from a single vineyard in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys and in the words of the man himself has “wild cherries, dark brooding fruits…plenty of flavour and a finish that is both rewarding and refreshing. Super stuff!”
Marlborough’s the spot to go to for good bang for buck Pinot Noir – this is a prime example! Grab a case of the Massey and quaff away, you’ll be impressed.
