Haven’t heard of Gruner Veltliner before? Don’t worry, it’s only been growing in NZ for a few years. But if this is anything to go by we could be seeing a lot more of this delicious little number – it’s food friendly, versatile and gets better with age! Yeah baby, yeah!
Originating from Austria the “Gru-vee” (as it’s called) used to be a bit of a high production, cheap and easy drinking grape style. More recently winemakers have bucked up their ideas and come to realise that it can actually produce amazingly intense, aromatic whites.
In fact, the guys at Coopers Creek believes this extremely food friendly white is a better match to Oysters than Marlborough Sauvy!
This style of white has become the cool thing to sip in many parts of Europe – give it a whirl!

Damn, you're looking young for your age!
